During my travels I found a lot of beautiful bookstores and libraries. Which are your favourites? These are mine but the list could be more longer.
My favourite bookstores and libraries
Trinity college, Dublin
The Library began with the founding of Trinity College in 1592; is the permanent home to the Brian Boru harp which is a national symbol of Ireland, a copy of 1916 Proclamation of the Irish Republic, and the Book of Kells. The library has something like 7,000,000 volumes.

Address: College Green, Dublin 2, D02 VR66, Irlanda.
Biblioteca Joanina, Coimbra University
The Coimbra University has one of the most beautiful libraries that I’ve ever seen: the Biblioteca Joanina. Built in the 18th century, it is part of the University of Coimbra General Library. To visit the library you must take a ticket for the university and wait the tour guide.

Address: Largo Porta Férrea, 3000-447 Coimbra, Portogallo.
Livraria Lello, Porto
Livraria Lello is situated in downtown Porto; the building first opened in 1906 and was designed by architect Xavier Esteves. Rumors says that J.K. Rowling was inspired by this place when she wrote Harry Potter Saga. To visit the bookstore, it is necessary to buy a ticket.

Address: R. das Carmelitas 144, 4050-161 Porto, Portogallo.
El Ateneo Grand Splendid, Buenos Aires
This bookstore was opened in 2000. The Grand Splendid bookstore is situated inside an old theatre. I have never seen a place like this: the Grand Splendid is the most beautiful bookstore in the whole world.

Address: Av. Santa Fe 1860, C1123 CABA, Argentina.
Books Kinokuniya, Sydney
This one was another of my favourite bookstore: Kinokuniya is situated in Sydney CBD, close to Townhall; I used to visit this place almost one day a week.

Address: 500 George St, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia
La Feltrinelli, Milano
La Feltrinelli is a really big bookstore situated very close to the Dome Catedral, in Milan historic city centre. I used to buy books for my university studies.

Address: Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Via Ugo Foscolo, 1/3, 20121 Milano.
Feltrinelli Red
Always a Feltrinelli bookstore with the difference that the bookstore is also a bar. This one is ubicated in Piazza Gae Aulenti, close to the 3 towers in downtown Milan.

Address: Piazza Gae Aulenti, 1, 20154 Milano.

Che MERAVIGLIA

Grazie. 🙂 Spero di riuscire a trovare qualche altra libreria così in giro per il mondo. Sono troppo belle, ci passerei giornate intere.

Da perdercisi veramente.

That was a really interesting list! I “only” visited the Trinity College Library yet, I can’t wait to go to Porto as the Livraria Lello looks gorgeous! I am a librarian-to-be so that post was a blessing!
